Simon Edwards - Across The Country

A countryside and nature lover for as long as he can remember, the last 5 years have seen Simon Edwards move into working with the beauty he sees on his travels. Those journeys have resulted in an outstanding collection of images from around the British Isles.

Focusing on the natural beauty of the countryside and portraying it in a natural way, he has gained a following in East Anglia, and further afield.

In 2008 Simon won the votes of the public in the Atelier East Summer Exhibition at the Angles Theatre taking the prize not only for Best Photographer, but also Best in Show.

Across The Country is Simon’s first solo exhibition and includes a selection of images from his favourite areas, ranging from Norfolk through the Peak District to Snowdonia, Yorkshire and the Lake District. He says, “I don’t feel photography, or art in general, has to challenge the viewer, or ask questions. I believe there is a place for art which soothes, which is merely a reflection of the beauty we can see, if only we take the time to look. With my work I aim to show what is there…if you take the time.”

1st - 31st March at the Angles Theatre, Wisbech.

Opening reception: 6-8 pm on Sunday 1st March.
