Road safety poster project at Friday Bridge School
This project, funded by Fenland Links, was devised to help raise awareness of road safety, especially in rural areas. The aim was to create a dialogue with the young people and encourage them to express their ideas and concerns regarding road safety, working through the process from discussion to production. The children we worked with already knew how to be safe on the road and this was their chance to create a poster aimed at drivers… and they had lots to say!
We love being at Friday Bridge School and it was great to see some of our young artist friends and share the creative experience with their friends too!
Everyone had loads of great ideas for posters and lots of important messages to share- they really want people to stop speeding, stop using mobile phones whilst driving, be careful when there is an icecream about, and not fall asleep whilst driving.
Here are some of the stunning posters, and some thoughtful messages too!
“If you are biking or walking you should wear a hiviz vest”
“Don’t talk when you are driving”
“Please don’t park on the pavement you stop people getting by”
“Do not go too fast or go to sleep”
“Don’t go in the middle of the road”
