Road safety poster project at Guyhirn Primary School
This project, funded by Fenland Links, was devised to help raise awareness of road safety, especially in rural areas. The aim was to create a dialogue with the young people and encourage them to express their ideas and concerns regarding road safety, working through the process from discussion to production. The children we worked with already knew how to be safe on the road and this was their chance to create a poster aimed at drivers… and they had lots to say!
This was our first visit to Guyhirn Primary School- what a lovely, friendly and welcoming place to be! The young artists really got into the idea of the project and came up with some amazing posters (unfortunately we only have room for a few)… and they said some wonderful and thoughtful things!
“Its better to be alive than dead”
“Kill your speed not me”
“Don’t say whatever to the police”
“Just because you can’t drink alcohol doesn’t mean you can drink lemonade”
“High speeds are for noble steeds”
“If you need to change a CD ask a friend or turn on the radio”
“Do not drive and get dressed”
“Don’t skid or your petrol will go out”
“Tell your mum and dad to be safe”
