Creative Club - Memories

Young Artists from Wisbech St Mary and Westwood Primary Schools have been making their memories into artwork. The Young Artists created all sorts of wonderful and interesting things…

Callum and Liam made a sculpture out of branches, string and beads, which represented all the den’s that they used to make when they were younger.

Anna made a spangley sparkley mobile, that included statements such as “one time aunty tracey fell down the stairs”. Anna was helped by her able assistant, (or slave as she called him!) Liam. When we asked Anna how she got her helper she said “I dont know why Liam helped, he just came up, I was pleased!”

Lauren’s installation (as pictured above) was called India’s Life. “I made a diary of a different version of me-evolved around my life, an installation. I called her India, it was one of my mum’s favourite names. I made a hairbrush, diary and three letters. I was being discrete, not letting people know it was me.”

Cameron made a Guinea Pig from foam, electrical tape and fake fur. “I made Gonzo because he died and I wanted to remeber him lots. He was my first pet, I got him when I was five. I have had 12 pets since him.”

Imogen wrote down dreams that she’d had and recorded them as an audio piece.

Josh L made a double sided mask, while Josh W made a memory game and a model of his grandma’s dog. Bethany made a magical tooth fairy with glittery hair and a fur coat, and Katie made a baby book for an imaginary baby, called… Katie.
